Oakham tennis Club Floodlighting Approved by Rutland County Council

Oakham Tennis Club Floodlighting Approved by Rutland County Council

Interestingly the planning officers presentation to members of the planning committee
mainly concentrated on court four.

I wonder why he did point out the lighting that is to be erected at the boundaries of
residential properties.

At the same meeting a diagram was shown estimating the spread of light.

To keep ex Cllr Kelly quiet the club decided not to illuminate court one, but this diagram shows light
from court 2 will spread all the way across court one.

Lights on court 4 have been relocated on plans so not to pollute the nearby wild life corridor and effect bat

Rather strangely all the light except those closest to the homes appear to spread a lot of light out.

The Council approved the application:

And for the avoidance of doubt and to ensure that the scheme takes
the form agreed by the Authority

The new floodlighting hereby approved shall only be used during the following times:

April to September

Monday - Friday: 9am - 9.30pm
Weekends and bank holidays: 9am to 7pm

October to March

Courts 2 and 3

Monday - Friday: 9am - 8pm
Weekends and Public Holidays; 9am to 6pm

This is to avoid detrimental impact on the residential amenity of
neighbouring premises, and detrimental impact on the wildlife habitat at the
south of the site.
