Residents Move out of Willow Crescent Oakham Due to Anti Social Spire Homes Tenant

  • I was shocked  to see a local family is being forced out of their home due to not being able to cope with
    an anti social neighbour.

I know exactly who they are referring to but will decline to name them.

However some of their own visitors, including a female town councillor, last year could be heard falsely and maliciously accusing me of the most heinous and vile offences.

Those deliberate, libellous allegations levelled at me when I was passing their home were totally unacceptable and I fully understand their frustration because when I complained to the police about that and to the Town Councillor no action was taken.

In the past Spire Homes have worked tirelessly with the police and other agencies to remove or resolve anti social issues.

If the correct procedure is followed innocent resident don't have to move... or even put up with heads of dead animals displayed in their front garden let alone dog shit...

All they had to do was keep a diary of every incident.

My daughter and her family, all Oakham born and bred, are moving out of Oakham on Saturday due to the total incompetenance of Spires Homes, RCC housing, Police and RCC environmental.  Nobody will help us deal with the problem that my daughter has had since the early part of this year.  Her neighbours suddently produced two husky dogs in a tiny one bed maisonette.  They howl when left, they are allowed to foul the communal area and the childrens play park over the road, they are walked at 2am in the morning as neither of the neighbours works and dont get up until about 2pm.  My daughter cannot sit out in her garden for the stench of dog mess coming from their garden and has to watch carefully where her toddler runs or he would run through the mess.  They shout abuse at my grandson's bedroom window and at Claire, as she keeps reporting them to Spires Homes.  There is nobody involved in this that has done their job properly and enforced the tenancy terms and conditions.  The dog warden wont get involved either.  So much for happy Oakham.  As soon as I can I will follow them as i am sick of this town and its ways.  So many people just do not acknowledge the low life that is on the increase in Oakham, and who seem to be protected by all the agencies.  My daughter and her husband are hard working, decent people who cannot keep going without sleep at night when they have to do a full days work the next day.  This is not fair and just sums Oakham up.  We are not the only Spires Homes tenants to be complaining to the Police, who also cannot do anything as it is Spires Homes responsibility.  There appears to be nobody in authority in this town that can stop a decent family being driven to breaking point by awful behaviour of tenants.  I am absolutely disgusted with this whole situation and will keep fighting to get these people brought to book, even though my daughter has had to move.  tina

Afraid there is no one and you feel absolutely desperate. My mum is a town councillor, and has been for many years, and she cant do anything either. They all just pass the buck from one to another and nobody does anything. I am hoping to get a local group together and if i get enough support maybe we can put a presentation to RCC at their big council meeting and see what happens from there. I used to work for RCC though and know how useless they are too!! When i went onto UK forums there are people all over the country with the same issues and top of the forum complaints was anti social behaviour and dog fouling and they were in the same boat as us. You are ok in Oakham if you can afford a huge expensive house, but most local people cant even afford to live in Oakham. It is one of the reasons my daughter has to move elsewhere as she couldnt afford Oakham prices. If you know of anybody with the same problem please get them to comment on here and lets see where we can go with it. many thanks tina

This is absolutely discusting Tina. There are things that can be done unfortunately those who live in ivory towers in Rutland are plainly not interested. There is your local town and county councillors who should be helping you. Get in touch with them for starters. The police, it would appear, in Oakham just haven't got a clue when it comes to protecting the public. Perhaps they are all at the Olympics.

There are laws in place to help you but I'm afraid Rutland police have no idea on how to impliment the law, it seems. Try Your local MP, he might help, if he's in the country. Then there is Spire homes - well we all know they won't help, it's far too much like hard work.

I'd love to help Tina but I'm afraid with my help and what I am capable of wouldn't be legal.

You and your family have my sympathy but there must be somebody out there in the region to help you. Come on somebody!!!!
