Rutland County Council Sustainability of Settlements Assessment and Town and Village Services Facilities Survey Update Oakham Town Council

Rutland County Council Sustainability of Settlements Assessment and Town and Village Services Facilities Survey Update Oakham Town Council.

Once again Oakham Town Councillors prove they are not interested in anything that effects Oakham residents.

Rutland County Council asked for comments on the document shown below.

The document refers to Oakham as the main town.

So you would assume councillors would be interested in commenting on public services, the environment, Shops Schools, Health, Transport, National Planning Policy the list goes on.

At the last meeting all councillors agreed there was no need to comment.

Not even a comment about pubs?

The Chairman stating the document is more relevant to villages and not the towns?

I am sure any issues in any of Rutland's 53 villages, good or bad for the village has an impact on the towns.

Possibly the document should have mentioned the location of hanging baskets and Cllr Lucas's cycle racks
and then some councillor might of taken a little interest in something that has an effect for Oakham residents.

I sat in the meeting a listened with disbelief at the comment Rutland County Council just seem to send us everything and anything these days.

I wonder if any Oakham Town Councillor actually knows what their role is meant to be?

The Chairman seems to think its speaking to the Rutland Times about the closure of the main
post office and the opening of a smaller franchise in a convenience store, as if he and his councillors
had something to do with this venture.

They had nothing to do with it, they did not even notice the post office claim that there is parking
outside the former Martin;s Newsagent, when they were sent the pointless Post Office Public consultation document. The last time I checked there was still a large penalty for parking in zig zag white lines at a pedestrian crossing. at the time I can remember councillors like Mr Dyer more concerned about there
personal interests such as whether he could collect his small parcels before school.

SO OFTEN YOU HERE AT RUTLAND COUNTY COUNCIL MEETINGS NO COMMENT
FROM OAKHAM TOWN COUNCIL, ALLOWING TORY COUNCILLORS TO TAKE
THAT NO COMMENT AS A SHOW OF SUPPORT FOR THEIR WONDERFUL WORK
AND PLANS, WHEN THE THE TRUTH IS OAKHAM TOWN COUNCILLORS CAN'T
BE BOTHERED.
