Rutland County College Agree to discriminate against its pupils Oakham Town Council Outstanding Achievement Awards

Rutland County College Agree to discriminate against its pupils Oakham Town Council Outstanding Achievement Awards

I am shocked to find Rutland County college is willing to make a prejudicial distinction in the treatment of students from different towns and villages, to help Oakham Town Council get around section 137 of the local government act 1972

In simple terms the college is willing to accept awards and a expensive silver cup from Oakham Town Council to present to pupils each year. But if a student has achieved outstanding results but lives outside Oakham they won't get it.

The awards will be only given to pupils who live in Oakham, who may have not done so well.

Or is the college going to lie? because I can not imagine, any teacher sitting down with a student and telling them you are the best and we would like to award you but because you live in Langham or other place we cant. We are going to give the award to your mate who did not do so well because they live in Oakham.

This makes the awards a farce, but of course boosts the personal ego of the councillors like Joyce Lucas who attend the prize giving, who have sat and watched as other organsitation over the years give prizes and receive thank's.

Oakham Town Council will try to do anything to get around the law of the land.
Oakham Town Council are a disgrace and it is a disgrace they put our colleges in this position.
