Rutland & Melton Parliamentary Candidates Hustings All Saints Church Oakham,
Terrorism can be solved by converting Muslims to Christianity.

I found this evenings hustings were not very challenging, if not disappointing.

Marilyn Gordon Former Labour, Former Deputy Mayor Melton Mowbray and born again
Christian Independent Candidate claimed "Terrorism can be solved by converting Muslims to Christianity"

Alastair McQuillan  Green Party Parliamentary Candidate came across a lot better than
I had anticipated.

Sir Alan Duncan was just Sir Alan Duncan the Conservative, he always comes across
well. Although he was caught out by a question relating to issues surrounding the provision and
services provided by the local NHS GP's. He was not aware of public dissatisfaction.
He does now. I was surprised he was not aware of a such a huge problem here in
Oakham. It would appear neither the GP's or patients have approached him with their
concerns.

James Moore Labour sat comfortable between the vicar and the Green candidate
nothing he said woke me up. He did mention the Labour leader once.

Ed Reynolds Lib Dem was represented by a former Parliamentary Mr Hudson.
I am not sure he answered the questions in an Ed style and I felt some caution
within his responses highlighting he was not the candidate and offering personal
views.

The UKIP Candidate Richard Billington an improvement on Mr Baker.
did not state anthing controversial. But did have in my opinion a rather
care free attitude regarding the the environment finishing of his evening
by taking a line from crime watch advise ask not to have sleepless nights
over the issue.

The hustings were interrupted by a young local woman who shouted
for some time from the rear of the church on the subject of fracking
and the risk of earth quakes.

All the candidates acknowledged this elections campaigning had failed
to address important issues including the environment, the forces and more.
I wonder why they were not questioned this evening about any of these issues?
