Cllr Stan Stubbs resigns from Oakham Town Council Sub Committee

Cllr Stan Stubbs resigns from Oakham Town Council Sub Committee

The sub committee was set up last year after Cllr Stubbs requested one was set
up.

The committee meetings are open to the public and Councillors who are
members of the committee are treated as members of the public.

Published local government association advice states parish council should not
have sub committees like this one although it is not unlawful.

Local government association advice highly recommends team work at
parish council level.

In his e-mail sent this morning Councillor Stubbs highlights what is a big
problem with Oakham Town Council, they assume if they put their name
forward outside of a full council meeting to doing something the
decision is already made.

I hope Councillor Stubbs is not turned down this evening for the roles
he wants otherwise he will have acquired a lot of extra spare time.

Predetermination.

Morning Allison,

Having decided to put my name forward to serve on two outside bodies that would make demands on my time I have reluctantly decided to withdraw from the sub-planning committee.  I am confident that it has been left in save hands.

Kind regards

Stan
