McCarthy & Stone Barleythorpe Road Oakham Rutland Proposed Retirement Development on Former Lonsdale House Site

Above is the proposed addition to Oakham for older people,
expensive little boxes where the older population will be
tucked away amongst a well marketed idyllic community
setting.

McCarthy and Stone as part of its first stage in consultation
held a public exhibition at Oakham Rugby Club.

The proposed building is no worse than anything that
has been currently built on the nearby Hawksmead
development.

McCarthy and Stone's proposals on trees cut down at the
former Lonsdale House site, a number of trees were cut down
by contractor working for Tresham College earlier this year
despite the huge size of the felled trees Rutland County
Councils planning department told me there was no evidence
of any tree felling. It is no surprise the same department
failed to see they were losing Rutland taxpayers £1.88m
if they don't know what a number of felled trees look like.

They say 51% of homeowners find energy bills are lower due to energy
efficiency nothing to do with the fact most homeowners have down sized.
