Oakham Town Council External Audit Publication Failings

Oakham Town Council is continually failing to comply with laws and its
own policies.

For the last four years the Clerk has failed to update the website in various
ways this includes the failure to publish annual returns as shown below
no returns have been published for four years.

Since the council has received its qualified audit report for 2015 -2017
it has failed to present it to full council for comment and acceptance.

Please can the council explain why the councils website has not been updated since 2012?
 
This is even more evidence that the Clerk is not carrying out all his duties. It is a requirement 
that all our annual returns are publish no returns have been published since 2012
 

External Audit

The Council is required to submit its accounts and any other documentation required to an External Auditor appointed by the Audit Commission. It is also required to fill in an Annual Return which is submitted to the External Auditor
The External Auditor then gives their opinion on both the accounts and the governance of the Council during the relevant financial year. This is then stated on the Annual Return.
