Payment No 109 £102.24 Once again Oakham Town Council
pays for supplies which should be provided by AA Cleaning Service
as stated in their contract.
Payment No 120 £1000 The clock has been turned back and the
Mayor Cllr Adam Lowe has been paid an allowance lump sum
tax free.
For about the last six years Oakham Town Council decided
to set a budget for the chairman's allowance and it was only
paid upon production of receipts. This helped Councillors
not to spend the allowance on things the law prevents.
All allowances are taxable income. Travel expenses are
tax free.
Payment Numbers 134 & 135 a total of £18,000 paid tax free to
a former member of staff.
The total payroll bill including a £420 legal bill for August 2016
was £25,962.73
The rest of the months expenditure was spent on administration
of the council and very little was done for the residents of Oakham
I wonder if the residents of Oakham are happy with the way
the Town Council wastes their money.
