Oakham Police Station, £2 million building up for sale for only £750,000, The Great Tory Give Away, APB (Leicester) LLP

Oakham Police Station, £2 million building up for sale only £750,000, The Great Tory Give Away

It is rumored, Oakham School are no longer interested in acquiring the property to detain unruly students.

Some months ago I blogged over hearing a conversation outside the police station, a gentleman from Leicestershire Police was certain Oakham School were going to purchase the property once it was vacated by the police.

I raised the issue of the need for the property to be marketed on the open market.

It is good to see Leicestershire Police have decided to do so.

When you consider Rutland County Council has just built a bus waiting room for nearly £1 million, I can't help thinking this property is being sold of cheap?

The selling details say it is a former police station? I have always had my suspicions about some of those who are currently working in the police station.

East Midlands Ambulance, Lost, Oakham Police Station, Oakham School, Photograph

Now it seem rather common for East Midlands Ambulance Service
to send crews from outside Oakham who get lost.

Our ambulance station set for closure is a 2 minute walk from the
police station.

This ambulance rushed into town drove around went up and down Kilburn
Road. The police station was closed. The crew were getting close to
their destination Oakham School.

The state of East Midlands Ambulance Service is getting a bit worrying.

Oakham Police Station, Up For Sale, Leicestershire Police, Rutland County Council Planning Application APP/2013/0090

Oakham Police Station, Up For Sale, Leicestershire Police, Rutland County Council Planning Application APP/2013/0090

First the flag pole was sold to cut costs, Leicester Police has now announce it is selling Oakham Police
Station. built in 1992 at considerable cost it soon became unusable and proved too costly to bring it
up to the required standards.

Leicestershire Police now want to flog it, it has been long rumoured that Oakham School is set to
snatch up a bargain.

Leicestershire Police have submitted a planning application to build a new smaller station on the doorstep
of the existing building it wants to sell.

If the plans are approved and it looks as if this will be decided by a planning office with delegated powers
just like the blot approved across the road for Oakham School last month.

Leicestershire Police are not revealing how this new build is to be funded I assume proceeds from
the sale will cover that or will it come from the £32,000 they are asking Sainsbury's to pay them if that
application is approved by Rutland County Council.

If  building work goes ahead there will be no public access to a font enquiry desk.

Personally I think this application should be rejected and public money could be saved
if Leicestershire police purchased a new kettle, gave it to Jon Gower, then gave orders to Inspector Mistry and all his Sergeants to move into the old police station recently vacated by the probation service.

Looking at the plans it looks like the extension is connect to the old police station and a timber
clad building in-line with the Oakham School houses to the left is proposed a opening through
the extension will give access to the existing car park.

Oakham School, Express an Interest in acquiring Oakham Police Station.

The building is about 20 years old and like the cells most of the buildings offices remain unused.

If Oakham School do acquire the Police Station it is not expected to effect operations and it likely the front desk will remain and be opened its normal limited hours.

Inspector Kamlesh Mistry, New Rutland Chief of Police, Oakham Police Station

Inspector Kamlesh Mistry, New Rutland Chief of Police, Oakham Police Station

Now Inspector Monks has gone, I found my visit to Oakham Police Station this week was as it should be.

I handed the latest piece of hate mail in at the front desk and it was dealt with promptly and correctly.

The person dealing with the crime said "We can no longer sweep this under the carpet"

Lets hope the new boss Inspector Mistry will unravel the mystery of everthing has been swept under the carpet by Inspector Monks in support of Rutland County Council and Oakham Town Council.

It would be nice if what he finds pulls the rug from under the feet of the Leader and Deputy of Rutland County Council and The Chief Executive.

I hope Johnny is searched before he leaves Oakham and the past letters he asked officers to lose might appear.

One officer told me not many will be attending his leaving do. I don't dislike the man, but I hope he remembers not to suck up to local councillors in his new role.

PS Johnny here is a helpful address for Christmas, for Mrs Monks

Please note I am not suggesting Mrs Monks smells.

The perfume request refers to Inspectors Monks lack of knowledge of Oakham. Last Christmas he asked me where in Oakham he could buy some cheap perfume for Mrs Monks.

Conservative Councillor Gene Plews says Oakham Police Station is full of inaction

Rutland County Conservative Councillor Gene Plews says Oakham Police Station is full of inaction, I agree with him on this one.  I think this a very important statement about Leicestershire Police.

I wrote to council regarding the posters displayed in the Greetham ward at the last election. I felt the police were infective when it came to dealing with election issues.

My email prompted Conservative Councillor Gene Plews to send the following e-mail to Conservative Leader Roger Begy and Deputy Conservative Leader Terry King.

From: Gene Plews
Sent: 21 April 2011 19:36
To: Roger Begy
Cc: Terry King
Subject RE:

Rodger, I appreciate that its your choice what to do but-I spoke to Terry about the latest ill founded
accusation regarding all Conservatives being behind the poster campaign in Greetham posted by Brookes, and the last personal paragraph below is totally out of bounds in my view against you.

I cannot keep buying into Geoff telling everyone to refer to Oakham Police (redacted by RCC) because they seem to do nothing when you call in and are full of inaction.

Ignoring everything is wearing a bit thin considering the broad scale of attacks against anyone and everyone?

It seems those offended against are bat and balled between Geoff and the Police and get nowhere?

(redacted by RCC) had another run in with the desk PCSO today and I believe has made a complaint at
the way he was treated against this officer.

We have the Chair of the Police Authority based in Rutland, has Barrie made any in-roads as to why there is
never any known police action?

Thanks Gene

The email I sent to Rutland County Council and other that prompted Cllr Plews email

From: Maritn Brookes
Sent: 21 April 2011 17:21
Subject:

Oakham Police station does not believe Roger Begys supporters Posters break election law.

Mr Smith at the front desk tells me, I should expect all that happens if I decide to live in public life.

So playing by the same rules as Roger Begy I am considering having posters produced asking is it acceptable for him to have so many standards complaints against him?

Did he not try and force a Greetham resident to sell him land only stopping when he approached a family member?
