Art Exhibition, Butterfly Centre, Sykes Lane, Rutland Water

Art Exhibition @ Butterfly Centre, Sykes Lane, Rutland Water till 15th Sept. Showcasing the best & most talented Rutland Artists.

Anglia Water has invited invited artists from Rutland Open Studios to exhibit throughout the Summer at The Butterfly Centre at Rutland Water, Sykes Lane. The ‘pop up’ gallery will be taking over the newly refurbished centre, an ideal space for exhibiting the vast array of talent from local artists from painting to sculpture, jewelry making to textiles, pottery to photography and much more.
Groups of artists will take turns to exhibit every week, so there will regularly be something new to see and even purchase. The enterprise kicks off on 22nd July with a sample collection of up to 20 of the participating artists, with the first group taking over from 29th July, which will feature paintings and mixed media artwork from Annie Tappenden, Julie Wade and Gabrielle Boyle.
Entry is free, and the Butterfly Centre will be open every day except Mondays, 12-6pm.
Further information will be regularly posted on www.rutlandopenstudios and the Rutland Open Studios facebook page.

Saturday 31st August 2013

An Iconic race in picturesque Rutland.
Voted best event of the year in 2009 by 220 Triathlon Magazine.

The Vitruvian is still a race that will be even tougher to finish than it is to pronounce or even get into.
Starting with an initial 1900 metre swim which sets the standard for the rest of the race.
The following 84km bike which includes two climbs over the notorious Rutland Ripple
and incorporates nearly 1000m of climbing is just the second stage of suffering before the
21km run gets under way just to finish things off. The good news is at least the run is flat.

We estimate there were over a thousand supports around the course and that's what
makes this event so special!!
