The men, women and children of Leicester are invited to join a small band of brave knights, soldiers and maidens who will be setting up an encampment on Leicester Castle Motte.
Experience daily life in the Middle Ages including clothing, weapons and traditions of the time and watch these brave defenders of old Leicester demonstrate the ways of medieval combat. Try out archery in the elegant gardens of Newarke Houses Museum and learn combat training and weaponry instruction on Castle Green, located in Castle Yard.
Other attractions on the day include a medieval fayre on Magazine Square featuring stalls demonstrating crafts including leatherwork, candle making, pole-lathe turning, book making and even a barber-surgeon plus strolling musicians and jesters to entertain throughout the day.
The Guildhall and Leicester Cathedral food festival will bring together a diverse range of local producers for you to sample and buy in beautiful, historical surroundings. A chance to enjoy a fantastic alternative shopping experience, join the medieval monk and watch demonstrations and other activities celebrating Leicester’s food heritage.  Also pay a visit to Magazine Gateway, The Castle, Wyggeston House and Jewry Wall Museum which will be open during the festival.

This energetic one-man show is a mad medieval musical monologue of poetry, comedy, song and the occasional dance! Fabulous fun-filled fable from the famous Canterbury Tales. Tickets £8.00 / £6.00
