Ride Leicester’s ‘Sky Ride’ returns with a new route linking Bede Park, Castle Gardens, Town Hall Square and Cultural Quarter providing a great opportunity to ride with family and friends.  Activation zones will be situated along the route providing plenty of places to stop and enjoy entertainment, activities and performances.
Events at the zones include the British Cycling Sport and Recreational Village at Bede Park with Go-Ride Racing, Extreme Wheels BMX and new for this year - the Pro-Sky Cycling Team experience. Magazine Square will provide Northshore Mountain Biking and the crazy bike world of CycloneWorks.  Stop at the Mercury car park for scootability and bikeability trails and relax at Phoenix Square for afternoon tea in the vintage tea rooms.
Also new this year will be the inclusion of Curve, providing a programme of displays and performances plus the
provision of a suite of adapted bikes to help people of all abilities enjoy the Cultural Quarter.
In addition a full programme of entertainment will be available around the route including performances by Keelan Phillips, European Flatland BMX Champion, live music at Bede Park, Treasure Trail, Shakespeare in the Park at Castle Gardens, free bike parks, Dr Bike mechanics and much more.  
The route will be open for riders between 11am and 4pm with a mass start at Bede Park. You can join in at any point and free Sky Ride vests are available at each activation zone. The route map is at the bottom of the page.

Ride Leicester Festival

As part of the Ride Leicester Festival, on Sunday 18th the City will host the Leicester Castle Classic, a race bringing riders from across the UK to the City for a 4km circuit linking Castle Gardens, De Montfort University and Mile Straight.  The programme will include, Youth, 3rd and 4th Category and an Elite’s men’s race.  The race will start and finish at Bede Park and feature the iconic Castle View with Rupert’s Gate and the cobbled forecourt adding a fantastic technical element to the course.
